TGJ Scrapbook
You are to create a scrapbook containing :
- 6 reviews of articles from newspapers, magazines, or a news media web site. Each article you review must be related to computers in some way. All of the articles must be current, and can't be older than January 2004. (failure to do so will result in a mark of zero)
For each article, you are to include:
- the original article or a copy of the article (if you cannot find the original).
- the name of the newspaper, magazine, or web site URL, date of the publication and the author. This must be present at the start of your review.
- In the review you must summarize the article, then provide your comments and opinions about the article: do you agree with the author, what are your feelings about this application... the review must be at least 350 words and must be typed.
- Do not review an ad for new hardware or software.
48 marks (8 marks X 6)
- Five Web site reviews.
- A graphic from the site within the review
- The web site address
- The positive and negative aspects of the site. Who would use the site? Is it informative? Is it creative? How fast does it load? Is it easy to navigate?
- The review should be about 200 words.
- The following sites must be used:
- University or College site
- Canadian Newspaper site
- Graphic Design Company site
- Site of your choice (must be done entirely in Flash)
- Retail site
25 marks (5 marks X 5)
- Ten career advertisements for computer-related jobs or jobs requiring computer skills. The job must be in Canada. Include both professional and clerical jobs. Highlight or underline the computer skills required for that job. (5 marks)
- Ten advertisements for the computer hardware. Make sure the price and specifications are included. Each ad must be for a different piece of hardware. (5 marks)
- Ten advertisements for a variety of types of computer software. Include many different types of software. Make sure that the prices are included. (5 marks)
- Creativity and effort (12 marks)
